The common name "alder" evolved from Old English alor, meaning "red" or "brown", which is also a root for the English words elk and elm. This beautiful wood is renown for it's beautiful grain structure and is known to be a favorite of cabinet makers and furniture builders for its easy handling. Alder sands easily for a fine finish and offers a consistent, natural red color in the timber. Common uses include:

- Frame Stock

- Cabinet Facings

-Instrument Bodies, esp Electric Guitars

Our Alder has been locally sourced and dried down to 5% before being stored in our dry-shed under humidity control to ensure the highest quality material for your project. All our material is planed down to the sizes shown below.
